On this day four years ago, Brazil got completely demolished by Germany on the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014. This game will forever stay in the history of football with Germany having a five goal advantage in the first 29 minutes! The end result was 1-7 for Germany and there probably wasn’t a single person that expected such ending. The goals were courtesy of Thomas Muller (11), Miroslav Klose (23), Toni Kroos (24, 26), Sami Khedira (29) and Andre Schurrle (69, 79).
This was the 16th goal during a World Cup for Miroslav Klose, which officially made him the number one scorer, having passed Cristiano Ronaldo, who had 15. The Germany player retired from the football field two years later, heading towards coaching.
After the huge humiliation for the host of the World Cup, Germany won the tournament with a 1 – 0 lead against Argentina. This is their fourth World Cup title, however, they won’t be able to defend it this year after losing to South Korea with 2-0.
