Grigor Dimitrov and his team mate David Goffin dropped out of the Men’s doubles during the Canadian Open. This decision was made because earlier today, Dimitrov defeated Frances Tiafoe and qualified for the quarter-finals. This means that Mate Pavic and Oliver Marach will receive a free win and will qualify for the quarter-finals on Men’s doubles.
Grigor’s opponent in the quarter-finals will be Kevin Anderson. Some expect Kevin and his partner Novac Djokovic to also drop out from the duo tournament.
Dimitrov-Goffin pull out in doubles. This will be the major drawback to these one off teams with high ranked singles players. Wont be surprised if Djokovic-Anderson follow suit #RogersCup
